Gunman opens fire in deadly mass shooting in The Netherlands

A Dutch cop is suspected of fatally shooting two children and seriously wounding a woman before turning the gun on himself in a home late Monday, authorities said.

He also wounded his 28-year-outmoded spouse within the capturing, in accordance to police.

The police said in a tweet: "At a shooting incident on the #heimerstein in #Dordrecht several victims have fallen".

The 27-year-old woman "died of her wounds in hospital this (Tuesday) morning", Rotterdam public prosecution service spokeswoman Rubinia Tjon-A-Sam told AFP.

The incident took place at around 7pm local time on Monday, in the Heimerstein neighborhood of the city.

"We are still investigating but we believe that it had to do with a family drama".

Police said further investigation was needed to definitively establish the motive. He was reportedly going through divorce with his wife.

Mayor Wouter Kolff said in a tweet: "Earlier tonight a very serious shooting incident occurred in Dordrecht. I am very touched and sympathize tremendously with everyone involved ..."
