Mallya said Intel's new portfolio of data centre processors will provide businesses with the richest suite of platform feature innovations that deliver significant performance increases across key workloads.
Intel says that it has already begun rolling out the new hardware to customers, with the likes of Google Cloud, AWS and AT&T having already bagged some of the 500,000 units shipped out ahead of Tuesday's official launch. The company claims a 1.65 times performance boost, on average, compared to the prior generation Broadwell-based server CPUs. Intel took a dig, naturally, and claims that its top-end Xeon Scalable processor delivers 28 per cent faster performance than AMD's Epyc 7601.
"As India Inc increases its investment in technology, the country's data centre and network infrastructure will undergo a massive transformation".
The company added that the 10-core processor gains up to 14% faster multithread performance and up to 15% single-thread performance over the previous generation.
LOUIS, MO July 11, 2017 (STL.NEWS) World Wide Technology (WWT), a leading integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions to large public and private organizations, today announced it has included the new Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors into the WWT Advanced Technology Center (ATC) based off an early release. After 350 Years, Jupiter's Great Red Spot Finally Probed Successfully!
On Earth, the most powerful hurricanes recorded were a mere 1,000 miles wide compared to the 10,000-mile-wide Great Red Spot. On July 4, Juno logged one year in Jupiter orbit, marking 114.5 million kilometres of travel around the giant planet.
According to Intel, the new platform delivers extreme performance to meet the processing demands for today's enthusiasts in gaming, content creation, virtual reality (VR) and overclocking.
Created to support an expanding range of existing and emerging data center and network workloads including cloud computing, 5G-ready networks, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
"Intel Xeon Scalable processors will improve the privacy and security of blockchain solutions".
The new line-up that include Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze processors, offers different levels of performance capabilities and supports various needs of the computer-hungry tasks, including real-time analytics and virtualised infrastructure.
Intel also introduced Intel Select Solutions, a solutions brand aimed at simplifying and speeding the deployment of data center and network infrastructure, with initial solutions delivery on Canonical Ubuntu, Microsoft SQL 16 and VMware vSAN 6.6.
