"This nonsense is gonna end", Scaramucci said of Trump's White House run. The White House communications director is responsible for developing and promoting agenda of the U.S. president and leading its media campaign. "We have accomplished so much, and we are being given credit for so little".

Spicer at a White House meeting this morning told the president that he vehemently disagreed with his choice for a new White House Communication Director.

Shortly after then-deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders read the President's statement, the White House announced her new title (press secretary) and confirmed that Scaramucci is officially communications director.

"How DARE Sean Spicer deny us 3.5 more years of Melissa McCarthy as #Spicy", another McCarthy fan tweeted. "I feel like my dad and Sean Spicer had a baby and it's me, which makes it even weirder".

He also showed regret for calling Trump a "hack politician" on television in 2015, saying "I never should have said that about him".

Mr Spicer's resignation comes after Mr Trump also reshuffled his personal legal team, which is building the President's defence against allegations of collusion with the Russian government around the 2016 election.

Earlier today, Scaramucci took the podium at the White House's first on-camera press briefing in nearly a month.

Louis also optioned right-handed reliever Sam Tuivailala to Triple-A Memphis and outfielder Magneuris Sierra to Springfield. The Cardinals had answered the Cubs' quick 2-0 lead with a homer of their own a series of doubles in the third inning.

His decision to quit was sudden and took advisers inside and outside the White House by surprise, according to the people with knowledge of the decision.

Scaramucci said Friday he would report to the president directly.

Spicer's debut at the White House podium in January featured a long scolding of reporters for their portrayal of Trump's Inauguration Day crowd numbers.

White House chief of staff Reince Priebus says he supports incoming communications director Anthony Scaramucci "100 percent".

On Friday afternoon, Scaramucci made the announcement naming Sanders to the position.

Priebus told The Associated Press that he and Scaramucci are "very good friends".
