John Wall elected to continue his all-star career with the Washington Wizards, agreeing Friday night to a four-year deal with a player option in the fourth year.
Wall, a four-time All-Star, just completed his seventh season in Washington, his most productive yet for the Wizards (23.1 points, 10.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game).
This is great news for the Wizards, as it seems that their core is now in place for the future and they can continue to build around the likes of Wall, Beal and Porter.
We don't support Gau Rakshak violence, Centre tells SC
Opposition parties and critics say that the BJP-led government at the Centre has done little to rein in the vigilante groups. The Gujarat and Jharkhand governments told the court that action had been taken against those involved in vigilante attacks.
According to TNT's David Aldridge, Wall and the Wizards have agreed to a contract extension that would pay him $207 million through the 2023 season.
Now Wall will top that. As NBA.com reported, he signed the extension under the Designated Player Veteran Exception, which will make him one of the highest paid players in the NBA. A player can also become eligible by making All-NBA in two of the prior three seasons or being named MVP or Defensive Player of the Year. Even in the delay, however, drama was absent as Wall consistently said he wanted to remain with the Wizards. Washington's playoff run ended with a Game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics in the second round. He was voted to the All-NBA third team last season and has averaged 18.8 points and 9.2 assists in a seven-year career.
