Almost a month after President Donald Trump's maiden trip to the Middle East as the US commander-in-chief, Jared Kushner, Trump's senior adviser, will travel to the region this week to try reach a peace deal between Israel and Palestinian people, a report said Sunday citing a White House official.

"Today work began in the field, as I promised, to establish a new community for the Amona settlers", Netanyahu wrote on Twitter.

The settlement, Amichai, will house the residents of the illegal Amona outpost, which the Israeli Supreme Court ordered demolished for being built illegally on privately owned Palestinian land.

"This is a serious escalation, an attempt to thwarts the effort of the U.S. administration and to frustrate the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump", a P.A. spokesman said in a statement.

The official said: "President Trump has made it clear that working towards achieving a lasting peace agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians is a top priority for him".

Around 400,000 Israelis now live in West Bank settlements, among around 2.8 million Palestinians.

More than 600,000 Israelis now live in settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

Warmbier's doctors said he had suffered extensive tissue loss in all regions of his brain, but showed no signs of physical trauma. In an interview with the Financial Times from April, Trump said that "China has great influence over North Korea".

Jewish settlements in the West Bank are regarded as illegal under worldwide law and are considered one of the main obstacles to a two-state solution, taking land claimed by Palestinians for a future state. "If Hamas has weapons in the West Bank, it will no doubt use them to topple the Palestinian Authority", he says. The area, captured by Israel in 1967, is not sovereign Israeli territory and Palestinians there are not Israeli citizens and do not have the right to vote. On Monday, Greenblatt tweeted that he prayed for peace at Jerusalem's Western Wall and paid a condolence call to the family of an Israeli border policewoman killed by Palestinians last week.

Jason Greenblatt, Mr Trump's global envoy, arrived on Monday.

While Israel has not launched new settlements in recent decades, extensive construction has focussed on expanding existing settlements.

Mladenov quoted Netanyahu as saying that "there will never be a government that is more pro-settlement than our government".

Daghlas said the razing of the said lands comes following an Israeli governmental decision last March to seize around 977 dunums of land to build a new settlement.

Abbas also asked Israel to reduce the electricity it sends to Gaza, covering about one-third of the territory's needs. "It's very hard for any party in the region, after those early, positive interactions, to say no to him".

Earlier this month, Israel green-lighted plans for more than 3,000 settler homes.
