Los Angeles police say a man who died after being shot by officers and hit by their auto by during a Wilmington confrontation had a toy gun. Detectives then found a toy gun at the scene.
An LAPD representative Wednesday morning could not say if the suspect was armed or if a weapon was recovered. The man was hit and fell to the ground.
Paramedics responded to the scene and determined the man was dead, police said.

His girlfriend Christine Delcros is in hospital and her sister shared a post on Facebook asking for help to find them. As of Tuesday , friends and relatives were becoming increasingly desperate to learn the fate of others still missing.
Authorities continue to investigate a confrontation that left a suspected gunman dead and injured an LAPD officer.
One of the officers was also rushed to a hospital.
"As the officers approached to make contact with him, several shots were fired and the suspect was struck", said LAPD spokesperson Norma Eisenman. But as the investigation evolved, LAPD Communications Director Josh Rubenstein said only one suspect - the man who was fatally shot - was involved in the incident. It will be reviewed by the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, the Police Commission and its inspector general.
