Although Apple updated the MacBook and MacBook Pro notebooks with seventh-generation Intel processors - the architecture dubbed "Kaby Lake" by the California-based silicon designer and manufacturer - talk during the keynote was limited to the iMac, Apple's all-in-one desktop. Apple is emphasising the $1,299 21.5-inch iMac and new $1,299 13-inch MacBook Pro as all-round products with a relatively affordable price tag.

The iMac Pro will be available in December. As a result of this increased graphical fidelity, the higher-end iMacs will also be able to support VR experiences. The 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes standard with more powerful discrete graphics with more video memory, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro adds a new S$1,898 configuration.

Apple showed off the line: 21.5-inch iMacs start at $1,099 (roughly converting to £850 and AU$1,470).

With an incredibly thin new design, the best Mac display ever, all-new speakers, and the revolutionary Touch Bar for instant access to the tools you want when you want them, the new MacBook Pro marks a milestone in the evolution of the notebook. You can also configure the top-of-the-line 27-inch iMac with a 2 TB SSD for a whopping $1400. Apple also verified that the entry level iMac models would have the Intel Iris Plus Graphics which is up to 80% faster graphics than the previous generation. It doesn't have Apple's sharp retina display, and it's had the same basic design since 2010, which makes it feel dated.

Trump lashes out at DOJ over travel ban legal strategy
He followed that tweet up with more posts to state that revisions to the travel ban are "watered down" and "politically correct". Just as Trump's Justice Department is arguing the ban doesn't target Muslims, the president seems to be suggesting the opposite.

In comparison, the 15-inch MacBook Pro that features an i7 chip running at speeds of 2.70GHz along with an equivalent high-end stock configuration was able to obtain an average single-core and multi-core score of 4,098 and 13,155 respectively. SSD storage options are now up to 50 percent faster, and iMac comes with Thunderbolt 3, the most powerful and versatile port ever.

Aaaaand... that's it. Don't expect a retina display, don't expect more storage or RAM. Within its slim frame it can support up to 4TB of SSD and up to 128GB of ECC memory, and with four Thunderbolt 3 ports can connect to up to two high-performance RAID arrays and two 5K displays at the same time.

Apple released a refreshed line of iMacs on Monday, marking the first update since October 2015. The 21.5-inch model delivers up to three times faster performance, and the 27-inch model is up to 50 percent faster, as per company's claim. Other connectivity options mimic what's on the 27-inch iMac with 5K Retina display now, with the exception of Ethernet. These machines are available for purchase today and for delivery this week at the Apple Store. The Mac Pro is going to be replaced soon and won't be updated anymore.
