The White House is denying reports President Donald Trump is considering firing Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the person heading up the investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election.
Chief executive of the conservative Newsmax media, Christopher Ruddy, has told PBS Television that Mr Trump is weighing the possibility of sacking Mr Mueller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who was appointed as special counsel on May 17.
And the White House has said - nothing. She spoke to reporters as Trump returned to Washington from an event in Wisconsin.

CNN's Erin Burnett Monday night said if Trump were to fire Mueller "it would be a bombshell of epic proportions". "With respect to this subject, only the president or his attorneys are authorized to comment".
Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from all matters having to do with the Trump-Russia investigation because of his own conversations with Russian officials during the Trump transition. "And I'm not going to speculate on what he will or will not do", Sekulow said.
Xbox One X is Microsoft's new powerful game console
But it seems even the cost of the Xbox One X that has everyone gawking isn't even breaking even for Microsoft. In lamen's terms, he wants to do it and he thinks it's possible, but it would take a good amount of work.
"If President fired Bob Mueller, Congress would immediately re-establish independent counsel and appoint Bob Mueller", Schiff tweeted Monday night. Richardson refused and resigned, as did Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus.
"Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair".
The New York Times reported late Tuesday that Trump did consider firing Mueller, but that his staff talked him out of it, citing people with knowledge of Trump's interactions with staff. Trump discussed the implications of firing Mueller and told those around him that Mueller was part of a "witch hunt", according to the New York Times.
Mr Ruddy said Mr Mueller's law firm also represented members of the Trump family. "It would be unusual that he would have a confidential conversation and then a few days later become a prosecutor of a person he may be investigating".
"Mr. Mueller could still say the president's testimony would change nothing and need not be taken, since Mr. Comey's statements and memorandums simply do not make out a case of obstruction".
Ruddy began by standing by his remarks, all while addressing the sharp notice he offered to Press Secretary Sean Spicer earlier this morning.
