Wife of Shooter Didn't Know Husband's Plan

An acquaintance of the man who shot at a Republican baseball practice on Wednesday morning said he was "shocked" to hear about the incident.

Authorities believe the 66-year-old had been living out of a van in northern Virginia since March after leaving his southern IL home. He had also posted inflammatory messages opposing the presidency of Donald Trump and articulated support for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Brooks was still on the field when Hodgkinson began his shooting rampage. She certainly didn't want to talk about his political beliefs.

"He would get politically aggressive. Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms", Mr Sanders said in a statement.

She'd noticed a white van parked in front of the YMCA every morning for the past month in the "sweet spot" by the front door.

"There's just no way that I would have guessed that this guy would be shooting at law enforcement and a congressman", said Brennwald, an attorney. The members of that group celebrated Hodgkinson's mass assassination.

Hodgkinson was arrested for battery, domestic battery and discharging a firearm in April 2006.

Also wounded in the attack were Congressional staffer Zachary Barth, Tyson Foods' Director of Government Relations Matt Mika, and Capitol Police Officer Crystal Griner. A former congressional aide was hospitalized.

She said she wasn't sure if there was a catalyst for him leaving.

In the evenings, Hodgkinson became a bit of a regular at the Pork Barrel BBQ restaurant just a few blocks from the ballfield where he opened fire. He always drank Budweiser from a can and drank alone, barely speaking to anyone, including the bartenders. "I can't wrap my head around it", Sue Hodgkinson said.

It marked a strong contrast with Labour's Jeremy Corbyn who spoke and met with residents and victims. Alhajali, who lived on the 14th floor, was a civil engineering student at West London University.

Hodgkinson told his wife he was going to Washington to "work with people to change the tax brackets", she said.

After getting out of a black SUV that drove down Rolling Hills Lane from the Hodgkinson home, Sue Hodgkinson stood next to a federal agent in front of a gaggle of reporters.

His Facebook page shows he was a fan of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent who a year ago made an unsuccessful presidential bid.

An acquaintance of the suspect confirmed that he had campaigned for Sanders during the election. Hodgkinson had been angry about income inequality and conservatism.

It's not clear from the story if there are more names on the list or how many, but the Caller does describe it as a list of Republicans.

Wagner said there was no way to predict that Hodgkinson would take such violent action.
