Alexandria gunman carried list of names of members of Congress

A list of names - including some Republican members of Congress - was found with the Alexandria shooter, according to a law enforcement source and Rep. Mo Brooks, who was on the list and present at the practice but unharmed by the shooting.

Scalise's trauma surgeon said Friday he can hope to make an "excellent recovery", even though the lawmaker arrived at the hospital Wednesday at imminent risk of death.

The suspect in the shooting at the congressional baseball practice earlier this week had a list including the names of some members of Congress on him, CBS News has confirmed. A single shot left Scalise, 51, with a shattered bone in his left hip and internal injuries that caused severe bleeding. Scalise remained in critical condition on Friday although his condition has improved, doctors said.

All three Congressmen on the shooter's hit list belong to the House Freedom Caucus, which is comprised of the House of Representative's most conservative members.
