School district says no active shooter at Hawkins Middle School

Authorities sweep Hawkins Middle School after reports of a possible shooter emerged Wednesday morning.

Multiple news outlets are reporting a large police response at Hawkins Middle School in Mason County near Belfair. The North Mason School District reported about 12:40 p.m. that no shots were fired and police found no signs of a shooter. The sheriff's department reported there were "lots of rumors flying around", but said they hadn't found any injuries. "We have not found any injuries as of now".

Police said they had a heavy presence heading to the scene of the middle school in Mason County, Washington.

So could that be what's got Ross too busy to return to Riverdale High? "And of course we all wish Ross the best". It's probably safe to assume that the second season will premiere on The CW at some point in 2018.

Hawkins Middle School and the adjacent North Mason High School remain on lockdown, however.

The incident prompted reports of an active shooter at the Belfair school. "We will continue to communicate with (parents) with more information when it becomes available".

The sheriff's office is now clearing buildings on the campus.
