Aaron Hernandez Attorneys Head To Court To Protect Prison Evidence

Authorities say investigators found three handwritten notes next to a Bible inside the maximum-security prison cell where the ex-NFL star was found hanging early Wednesday.

However, the medical examiner's office changed its mind, Baez said, and it plans to do the examination and the fixing procedure of the brain. "You do things right and the culture of misconduct and the culture of negligence that goes on in this town is befuddling it's unbelievable", said Baez.

The declaration by prosecutors, state police and public health officials came after a tumultuous day in which Hernandez's lawyer suggested the state was mishandling the investigation and illegally withholding the man's brain after releasing the rest of the body to a funeral home.

Jose Baez, Hernandez's lawyer in his second murder trial in which he was acquitted, said his office would partake in a private investigation.

Hernandez was a star player for the New England Patriots when he bought the house not far from Gillette Stadium for $1.3 million in November 2012 through a corporation. It was put on the market for $1.5 million in March 2016, but the price has since dropped to $1.3 million.

Family members of Aaron Hernandez are asking a judge to order prison officials to preserve evidence so they can investigate the circumstances of his death.

The injury to Hernandez looked to be a serious knee injury and Altuve left having been clotheslined and at risk of a concussion. Houston began the fifth with four straight hits, including Norichika Aoki's RBI single that tied the game.

But authorities have yet to release the incident report, officers' logs, video footage from the area around Hernandez's cell or other details about prison protocol, despite repeated requests from The Associated Press. The Internal Revenue Service has a $117,395 lien on the property.

That determination comes from the district attorney's office in Worcester County, Massachusetts.

The couple had a 4-year-old daughter together.

Like many sports fans, the defamed athlete's attorney Jose Baez was shocked to hear that Aaron took his own life after being acquitted for double murder just days ago. MA prison officials said Hernandez hanged himself in his cell and pronounced dead at a hospital early Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

Hernandez's body is at Faggas Funeral Home in Watertown, Massachusetts, according to funeral home secretary Jennifer Smith.

He had been serving a life sentence without parole for the 2013 slaying of a onetime friend, Odin Lloyd.
