Additionally, the suit revealed Nature's Bakery terminated its sponsorship agreement with Stewart-Haas last month although it is scheduled to be Patrick's primary sponsor through 2018.

"Stewart-Haas Racing remains focused on its preparation for the 2017 NASCAR season where it will again field four entries in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series while also introducing a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series team".

"Nature's Bakery is in material breach of its contract with Stewart-Haas Racing", a team statement said.

While Nature's Bakery will not be on the auto, Patrick will have sponsorship from TaxAct, Aspen Dental, and Code 3 Associates in select events.

And to top it all off, Krispy Kreme says the coffee was created to be the flawless complement to its Original Glazed doughnuts. The two new blends will be Smooth which is described as subtle and easy drinking or Rich for a more bold experience.

While it's not unusual for vehicle manufacturers to step in and assist in cases like this with their high profile teams, what's different about SHR is that it just switched from Chevrolet to Ford during the offseason.

Because Patrick is lacking an anchor sponsor for the majority of the 36-race schedule, and with the season-opening Daytona 500 (Feb. 26) just weeks away and SHR also needing additional funding for Clint Bowyer's No. 14 vehicle, speculation has arisen whether SHR would be able to field four full-time teams as originally planned.

"I'm hopeful we're going to come to a resolution on that". Still, while she does have her contingent of fans, it's possible her lack of performance is catching up with her.

Sponsorship woes aren't unique to SHR, but they're headaches that every race team would rather avoid.
