Heller's opposition is the latest roadblock for the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA).
Heller faces a hard re-election fight next year. Hillary Clinton won the state by 2.4 percentage points, or 27,272 votes.

"Those with private insurance will experience higher premiums and higher deductibles, with lower tax credits to help working families cover the costs, even as their plans might no longer cover pregnancy, mental health care, or expensive prescriptions", Obama wrote.
One of the most controversial aspects of the senate bill is its treatment of Medicaid.

Assistant Director of the Dayton Access Center for Independent Living, Greg Kramer, says cutting Medicaid would hurt many low-income people with disabilities who rely on the program for health care and services. Under the Senate GOP plan, all this coverage is at risk.
Sandoval, a Republican who chose to opt into expanding Medicaid, said 210,000 received health coverage because of the decision.

The Senate bill differs from the House health care measure, so the legislation would have to be reconciled in a House-Senate conference committee. The lobbying group is waiting to see the analysis of the bill's impact on spending and insurance coverage from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, expected next week. The House already passed its version of a repeal-and-replace bill last month.
