A total of 27 bills and draft bills were unveiled as part of the speech, with eight specifically about UK's withdrawal from the EU. Plans for new grammar schools south of the border - a cause close to Mrs May's heart - are also notably absent as is a commitment to a free vote on whether to repeal the ban on hunting with dogs and the intended watering-down of the pensions triple lock.

In a speech following the queen, May apologized for how her government handled the aftermath of the tragedy.

Remember this government is only in charge of England's NHS, and we know only too well in Thurrock that it is in dire need of investment.
