Fighter jet involved in accident at Dayton International Airport

A military plane went off a runway, slipped and flipped Friday during the Dayton Air Show in OH, according to witness reports and law enforcement officials.

Penelope Reed of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Wright-Patterson Air Force Base dispatched a crash team and heavy rescue crew.

Emergency crews worked to extract two occupants from inside the aircraft, according to the Associated Press. Reed said there was no immediate report of any injuries or fuel leaks.

In a speech following the queen, May apologized for how her government handled the aftermath of the tragedy. Buckingham Palace said Philip, 96, was hospitalized as a precaution for treatment of an infection.

A tweet from the Thunderbirds indicated the incident occurred while the plane was landing at 12:20 p.m.

No injured were reported and both people in the aircraft were safely removed, according to WHIO.

The F-16 appeared to be practicing in thunderstorm conditions ahead of this weekend's 2017 Vectren Dayton Air Show.

The opening ceremonies for the Dayton Air Show are slated for Saturday.
