Jeffs, he said, handed over his actual ID and filled out the form to complete the deal.

"That was his shot at fooling everybody", Haug said.

Jeffs re-arranged his name during the transaction, according to pawn shop owner Kevin Haug. Jeffs came up wanted.

"The guy left and paid for it and was acting a little unusual and he got into his truck with Utah plates and got the plate number off it", Haug said. An FBI spokeswoman said Thursday, . Jeffs and 10 others from the sect were charged with fraud and money laundering in a multimillion dollar food stamp fraud scheme.

Jeffs was released from jail last June while he awaited trial; but, The Post reported at the time, he "was confined to his Salt Lake County home with few exceptions, told he couldn't contact various people affiliated with the sect, and made to wear a Global Positioning System monitoring device".

"That information was absolutely instrumental", he said. An off-duty Yankton police detective spotted the vehicle and believed it was Jeffs.

"He was living out of his truck", said Barnhart.

Jeffs, 57, is being held in Minnehaha County Jail in South Dakota. His initial court appearance was scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

According to local media reports, investigators believed Jeffs had removed his ankle bracelet at some point on June 18, 2016, because federal agents were in contact with him earlier that day but lost contact during the evening hours.

The jurors were sequestered for the duration of the trial in a hotel near the Montgomery County Courthouse. She first alleged in 2004 that Cosby drugged and raped her at his Pennsylvania home that same year.

Federal Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Sandra Barker confirmed the arrest and said more details would be provided later in the day. He said he and his employee would split the money.

Last June, the brother of polygamist Mormon sect leader Warren Jeffs straight-up disappeared.

"He said his first name was Jeffs, his middle name was Lyle and his last name was Steed", said Haug.

Authorities say in June 2016 Jeffs slipped out of his Global Positioning System ankle monitor using olive oil or another lubricant and fled from a Salt Lake City house where he was on supervised home release. Others have left on their own.

U.S. Attorney John Huber said Lyle Jeffs faces additional felony charges as a result of his flight from custody.

"Our working theory was that he probably had less support than his brother had when his brother fled a number of years ago", Barnhart said.

Sam Brower, the author and private investigator whose book "Prophet's Prey" helped to bring down Warren Jeffs, also communicated with Lake Powell Communications today.

As Radar reported, Jeffs went on the run less than two weeks after a U.S. District Judge released him from jail on supervised home release.

While Jeffs was a fugitive, nine of the 10 other people charged in the high-profile February 2016 bust accepted plea deals.
