The dashcam video shows a very brief and rather polite exchange between the officer and Castile after Yanez tells him he pulled him over because his auto had a broken brake light.
As Yanez repeats, "Don't pull it out", he grabs his gun, points it inside the auto and fires multiple rounds.
Ms Reynolds is heard explaining that her boyfriend was reaching for his ID, to which Mr Yanez replied: "I told him not to reach for it".
By drawing attention back to the Minnesota case, however, the video has renewed concerns over the way that police officers respond to tense situations and the force that they deem appropriate in those situations. The footage was shown to jurors during the trial and reportedly again upon request during deliberation.
The memorial in Falcon Heights where the shooting took place is a physical reminder of what happened that night last July. That video showed Reynolds pleading blood-soaked Philando to stay with her, few moments later he died. The almost 10-minute video shows Yanez rapidly firing seven shots into the vehicle of Castile, 32.
The victim's furious mother, Valerie Castile, said outside court: "I'm mad as hell right now".
"I wasn't reaching for it", Castile says.
Josh Peck's Wedding Photos Get Ruined With Embarrassing Hashtag #JusticeforDrake
When Drake didn't get invited to Josh's wedding, he started tweeting all those dramatic memes. Josh has since gone on to act in Grandfathered alongside Full House alum , John Stamos .
"You should think from the viewpoint of the officer, reacting to the actions of the driver, who becomes non compliant with the rather loud and direct commands of the officer", Yanez defense attorney Tom Kelly told MPR News earlier in the day. He then unholstered his gun and pushed it into the auto. Castile, an elementary school cafeteria worker, had a permit to carry the weapon.
The release of the video made some people even angrier about the death.
Steven Belton, the black president and CEO of the Minneapolis Urban League, said the footage was "powerfully painful" and that Castile was "gunned down like a rabid animal". He said he felt he and his partner were in danger. Kauser said he was surprised when Yanez started shooting. He also said Yanez could have acted differently.
But the video, played for the jury during Mr Yanez's trial, did not show what was happening inside the vehicle and what Mr Castile was reaching for just before he was shot. Nevertheless, Officer Yanez was reportedly found not guilty last Friday (June 16) on one charge of second-degree manslaughter and two charges of reckless discharge of a firearm.
The video begins as Yanez pulls over Castile's vehicle due to a broken taillight. He then asks for Castile's license and insurance while another officer stands on the passenger side of the auto. Castile gave the proof of insurance to Yanez through the driver's side window, and the officer put it in his pocket. Five of those shots hit Castile.
What follows is a tragedy as we hear continuous shots being fired at Philando Castile.
The interview transcripts were released Tuesday, along with dash cam footage of the execution that confirmed to anyone with eyes, ears, and a brain that Yanez should be rotting behind bars for the rest of his life instead of walking around free.
