Special Counsel Mueller Investigating Possible 'Money Laundering by Trump Associates'

A longtime friend to Donald Trump said Monday that the president was considering whether to fire Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the USA election and possible collusion with Trump's campaign.

After news of Ruddy's interview surfaced on the web, Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, echoed that sentiment on Twitter. He and his team are investigating whether the President tried to pressure them to shut down the Russian Federation investigation.

Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, and now may fire special counsel Robert Mueller who is also conducting an investigation into Trump's Russian Federation connections.

The president sacked Comey in early May.

During a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last week, former FBI Director James Comey testified that President Trump sought assurances that he was not under investigation personally in the agency's Russian Federation tampering investigation.

The letter said the investigation will also probe Comey's testimony that Loretta Lynch, as President Barack Obama's attorney general, had directed him to describe an FBI probe into Hillary Clinton's email practices as merely a "matter" and to avoid calling it an investigation. "Because Comey makes so clear that it's the poison fruit of a deliberate manipulation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation director leaking to The New York Times, deliberately set up this particular situation".

The inquiries appear to be part of a fact-finding mission and it would ultimately be up to Mueller to decide whether there is enough evidence to recommend pursuing charges on any part of the investigation. Trump has said he is willing to be interviewed by Mueller's agents, and Comey has said he was sure the special counsel would investigate the possibility of obstruction.

And in 2012, he surpassed Bjorn Borg's record to become the most successful player in French Open history with his seventh crown. It is hard to compare this tournament to any other one. "But the thing that I am more proud of in my career probably is 2013".

"It is my view that fully investigating the facts, circumstances, and rationale for Mr. Comey's removal will provide us the opportunity to do that on a cooperative, bipartisan basis", according to the letter.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer ignored a shouted question from a reporter on Monday about whether Trump has confidence in Mueller. Ruddy later confirmed the comment to CNN.

"It would backfire. There is a limit to what the American people would accept", said Bill Jeffress, a prominent Washington criminal lawyer who was on the defense team for I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby's leak case during the George W. Bush administration.

"Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair".

In a panel discussion over the weekend on "Fox News Sunday", former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a close unofficial adviser to Trump, called Mueller's investigation "a witch hunt." This is the first time the President is being implicated by the #special counsel. "I think there's a conflict there".

It was not clear whether Mr Ruddy, who speaks to the president often, was basing his remarks on a specific conversation with him or entirely on Mr Sekulow's comments.

All of which makes Trump's efforts to belittle the investigation and move past it that much more hard.
