Fellow Republicans pressed President Donald Trump on Sunday to come clean about whether he has tapes of private conversations with former FBI Director James Comey and provide them to Congress if he does - or possibly face a subpoena, as a Senate investigation into collusion with Russian Federation or obstruction of justice extended to a Trump Cabinet member. Sessions is expected to face sharp questioning from his former Senate colleagues about his role in the investigation into contacts between Trump campaign associates and Russian Federation during the 2016 election. During the Friday press conference where Trump said he'd be willing to speak under oath, the president said only that he would be "glad" to speak with Mueller. "Totally illegal? Very 'cowardly!'"
Back here in Washington, the long-awaited testimony from fired FBI Director James Comey may be over, but the reverberations are certainly not. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., Sessions said that he had been scheduled to discuss the Justice Department budget before House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees but that it had become clear some members would focus their questions on the Russian Federation investigation.
President Donald Trump is banking on his loyal base of supporters to help him through the tangle of the Russian Federation turmoil. "They sent a separate request to Trump's White House counsel, Don McGahn, for any record the White House had of their meetings".
Sessions, who had agreed to testify this week before the Senate and House appropriations subcommittees about the Justice Department budget, wrote the chairmen of the committees Saturday and said he was sending his deputy to testify instead.
Though the Justice Department maintains that it has fully disclosed the extent of Sessions' foreign contacts past year, lawmakers have continued to press him for answers about an April 2016 event at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, where both Sessions and Kislyak attended a foreign policy speech by Trump.
Senators on that committee are expected to question Sessions about his meetings with Russians - a topic that has come under increased scrutiny amid investigations into Russian meddling in the USA presidential election.
Sessions has been dogged by questions about possible additional encounters with the ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.
"I don't understand why the president just doesn't clear this matter up once and for all", said Sen. The committee shortly after said the hearing would be open.
DUP 'will support the Tories for as long as Corbyn leads Labour'
However, when asked about whether the Brexit talks would start for real on June 19 as planned, Winterstein said: "I can not say". The public "want to see government providing that certainty and stability at what is a critical time for the country".
With this being the first time Sessions has testified in Congress since recusing himself from the investigation, there could be a lot to learn.
Trump has steadfastly denied involvement in any collusion with Russian Federation and portrayed Comey's testimony last week as complete exoneration.
On Twitter, the Senate's top Democrat, Chuck Schumer, trolled the president with video of a mock staff meeting in which aides praised Schumer's hair and his performance on the Sunday talk shows.

Meanwhile, it's becoming harder and harder to support President Trump, who continues to be his administration's worst enemy and main saboteur.
Kasowitz blasted Comey for leaking information about his private conversations with the president and said it would be left to authorities to determine whether the leaks should be investigated.
"Voters don't ask who can win, they ask who can lead", Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway said at an event sponsored by Axios this past week.
