The film stars MJ impersonator, Navi, who describes himself as "The World's #1 Michael Jackson Tribute", as well as Chad L. Coleman and Sam Adegoke and sees the bodyguards questioned about Jackson's death. Nevertheless, folks seem to flock to their TVs to watch the surefire trainwrecks.
Jackson is the latest celebrity to become the focus of a Lifetime movie, following the network's campy biopics for Brittany Murphy, Anna Nicole Smith, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston and, most recently, Britney Spears.
The film is based on the 2014 book by Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard, who served as Jackson's personal bodyguards, and finds Jackson embracing fatherhood while coping with the enormous pressure of being one of the planet's biggest stars. As one of the bodyguards says in the film, "We were the only two people looking out for him". Just quite how normal you can be as a father to a child you chose to name "Blanket" however is something the biopic will no doubt be forced to explore.
