The King County Medical Examiner's office released the identity and cause of death of the suspect involved in Thursday's shooting of three police officers in downtown Seattle.
Whitcomb says another suspect, a woman, is in custody and being questioned.
It was a chaotic scene when police were called to a 7-Eleven on First Avenue and Cherry Street near Pioneer Square at 1:18 p.m.
Officers discovered the body of a male suspect from the robbery after the shooting, according to a police statement. A second officer, a 30-year-old man, was shot in the chin and ribcage and is in critical condition. A fourth officer was shot in his hand. An officer grabbed her brother and she said she struck the officer on the head with a soda bottle and placed him into a chokehold until he let her brother loose. One officer suffered a shot to the chest, but was wearing a vest sustained minor injuries.
"Our hearts and our thoughts are with those officers and with their families", said Seattle Mayor Ed Murray.
Police later said the man was found dead inside the building. One of the two suspects contained has "significant injuries", according to police.
Another 19-year-old suspect in the robbery waived his court appearance and was ordered held on $75,000 bail for investigation of robbery.
Officers responded to a robbery on the 600 block of First Ave. shortly after 1 p.m. local time.

A female officer who was saved from serious wounds by her Kevlar vest was identified as Elizabeth Kennedy, 42, the source said.
Authorities closed off several downtown blocks throughout the afternoon as police cruisers flooded the area and SWAT officers searched a nearby federal building where the suspect had barricaded himself inside.
Police will release more information as it becomes available. Best said the two hospitalized police officers had talked to her when she visited them there.
