Garrett a No. 1 pick? Sapp says 'No, no, no'

Sapp blew up conventional wisdom like it was the quarterback on one of his patented interior rushes when speaking about the consensus No. 1 overall pick with ESPN's Adam Schefter recently. "More of my conversations than in other years seem to be centered around teams searching for the cleanest players in the draft". Sapp added that on game tapes Garrett "disappears" for stretches. I am upset but realize that I am powerless when false accusations are made and people try to convict you in the court of public opinion. Miami Dolphins OT Laremy Tunsil was considered a top pick in last year's draft, only to tumble to 13th because a video of him smoking from a gas-mask bong was leaked the night of the draft.

Too risky for the Browns to pass on an impact defensive player, unless they're anxious they won't get a quarterback at No. 12. "I see a lazy kid that makes four plays a game". "This is the No. 1 guy?" "Because I think at that pick, what you're looking for is a cornerstone, game changing player and I believe those exist in this draft. Really? Are we lowering the bar?" "No, no, no. This ain't even close". There are some plays where you kind of want to see a little bit more at the end of the play by Myles Garrett, but you're playing 80-90 snaps on defense now versus 50-60 years ago because of the up-tempo offenses. Rare is the mock draft that doesn't have Garrett going first overall, and rare is the analyst or scout that doesn't tab him as the best player in the draft.

Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis to again work with Shyamalan

Edwards was the assistant head coach of the Bucs when Sapp, a Hall of Famer, played in Tampa Bay. Garrett, the Arlington Martin and Texas A&M product, will have a new home hours before the Cowboys select Thursday. Only time will tell if he understands that and perhaps a critic such as Sapp will show Garrett that he's still got plenty to prove.
