The British-born Hollywood star told the programme he was "a pikey from Kent", before clarifying that he was not "taking a slant" at gypsy and traveller communities.
Orlando Bloom has insisted he wasn't trying to cause offence by referring to himself as a "pikey" in a recent interview.
"Could you take off all your clothes while sort of subtly covering your bits to camera", the show's host Nick Grimshaw pried while asking about Bloom's acting skills.
All of this began when the 40-year-old actor appeared on Nick Grimshaw's Breakfast Show to promote his new movie, Unlocked.
Bloom, who attended St Edmund's School in the city, told the programme when asked if he still performs his own stunts: "I'm still a pikey from Kent, boy, I'm still a pikey from Kent".

The National Gypsy-Traveller-Roma Council said his use of the "racially abusive term is worrying". "It's a racist slur!" "I don't think you can flirt with it or not take it seriously and it's getting more and more frightening as the days and the months go on", he said.
He said: "Great to have him on the show, but apologies if you were offended by anything that Orlando may have said earlier on".
