Funeral for Robert Godwin, Sr. scheduled for Saturday

The chase lasted 2 miles before Stephens took his own life, police said.

The man who posted a video of himself on Facebook killing an elderly man shot and killed himself after a "brief pursuit" by Pennsylvania State Police officers.

The suspect said in the video he has also killed more than a dozen other people.

Stephens is not believed to have known Godwin, a retired foundry worker who media reports said spent Easter Sunday morning with his son and daughter-in-law before he was killed. My heart & prayers goes out to the family members of the victim (s). "I've been told that I'm the one who should have died".

"I could not do that if I did not know God, if I didn't know him as my God and my savior, I could not forgive that man", she said.

Godwin was shot while walking home from an Easter meal Sunday in Cleveland. Before the shooting, Stephens demanded that he say "Joy Lane", the name of his ex-girlfriend.

"Each one of us forgives the killer, the murderer", Godwin's daughter Tonya Godwin Baines said Monday.

Godwin taught his children the value of hard work.

Police had searched for Stephens since Sunday, when they say he randomly killed a 74-year-old retired OH man and recorded it. "Because I know that he's a sick individual", Debbie said.

Lane said it has been hard watching her name dominate social media, where her connection to the killer became a topic of discussion over the weekend.

"[The employee] said, 'I think that's the guy".

Tammy Godwin said after getting that call she ran down to her mother's house, just a few doors down, not being able to fully comprehend the news she was just told. "After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself", the police said on Twitter, providing no further details. He had many traffic violations but no criminal record, Williams said. He was kind and loving to me and my children.

Cleveland Police issued an aggravated murder warrant for Stephens, as well as a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture. She said the chase slowed suddenly from 50 miles per hour to about 20 miles per hour when the road narrowed from four lanes to two.

Detectives spoke with the suspect on Sunday by cellphone and tried to persuade him to surrender, police said. "To think that one of our employees could do this is terrible".

She said Stephens was a vocational specialist who worked with youth and young adults.

That's when she says she heard a gunshot.

Godwin was the father of 10. "He's a man people should model themselves after".
