The Sixers agreed on a trade with the Boston Celtics on Saturday night that involves multiple draft picks that would give Philadelphia the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
This trade is huge since Philadelphia also had number one pick in last year's National Basketball Association draft, where they drafted LSU star Ben Simmons. Philadelphia would get the No. 1 pick, Los Angeles would have No. 2, Boston No. 3 and Phoenix No. 4. "Pritchard has yet to show an inclination to engage the Lakers, but has discussed deals with several teams-including Cleveland-in which the expectation of teams would be that George is a 'one-year rental.' The Cavaliers are devoid of the kind of young players and future picks that in might want in return for George, and George has never mentioned the Cavaliers as an intriguing destination".
While the 76ers will look promising with Fultz, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the Boston Celtics potential lineup of Isaiah Thomas, Jimmy Butler, Gordon Hayward, Josh Jackson and Al Horford may put a roadblock in the Cleveland Cavaliers journey back to the finals sooner rather than later. He averaged 23.2 points, 5.9 assists, 5.7 rebounds and hit 41.3 percent of his 3-pointers during his lone collegiate season.
The Celtics-76ers blockbuster trade involving the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday night's draft is now official.
ESPN's Ramona Shelburne said people around the National Basketball Association are convinced Boston got this trade with Philadelphia done early so they could have more time to maneuver, too. The Celtics will receive a package of picks that includes the Sixers' No. 3 overall pick this year, according to the sources.
Macron wins strong parliamentary majority: exit polls
France's Socialist Party and its allies won just 33 seats, a dramatic collapse from its previous haul of 277 seats. The Socialist Party (PS), which had been the main party with 270 MPs, was left with 29 seats (5.68 percent).
The Celts would certainly benefit from adding any one of those players, but the key to this transaction may be the additional asset gained.
With the NBA Draft being held on Thursday, Fultz might have plenty of time to get the sandwiches as a member of the 76ers.
Early Sunday, word was the two teams had reached a deal and Philly would have the No. 1 pick. The Celtics already have Brooklyn's 2018 first-round pick, as well as their own. All the praise and comparisons can be risky before a draft (no matter what sport), and if you're going to be the projected number one pick, you have to earn the praise on the court.
The deal is expected to be announced Monday since the league offices are closed on weekends. Fultz led the Pac-12 in scoring and finished No. 6 among all Division I players, and was the top freshman scorer in the country.
