The big picture: Target and eBay have announced plans to counter Amazon's Prime Day sales event with their own offerings and Walmart probably isn't far behind.
Amazon is using the concert to celebrate the best in Amazon entertainment for all Prime members around the world. It has built-in ethernet and wi-fi connectivity and three HDMI ports, making it a great, self-contained media center for all your gaming and streaming needs.
In a press release, Target chief merchandising officer Mark Tritton said this will be an expansion of Target's One-Day Sale event last year that he said was one of the biggest days of the year for the retailer in terms of online sales. And while Prime members benefit from free two-day shipping, those who shop at Target can either pick up purchases immediately at a local store or have them delivered to their door via Shipt within hours. It's Amazon's self-created holiday that doubles as a summer blowout sale with millions of discounted products.
Earlier this week, Amazon announced that its Prime Day sales will go on for a full 48 hours for the first time. Amazon's days of deals are meant for subscribers of its Prime program, a subscription service that costs $119 a year and includes free shipping and other perks.
Beth Chapman dies after cancer battle
Beth announced in 2017 that she was battling throat cancer. "You were strong for everyone, and you taught me it's okay to let go". The A&E network first picked up the show in August 2004 and canceled the series after eight seasons in May 2012.
The sale name is a little dig at Amazon's performance issues past year, that saw the site crash as it was flooded with eager customers. Target is promising more discounts on a larger number of items.
Prime Day is Amazon's worldwide shopping event available exclusively for Prime members. As things stand, eBay says you can claim more than 50 percent off goods from the likes of Apple, LG, Samsung, KitchenAid and Garmin.
While Target has not unveiled the deals just yet, it does promise savings on products in the home, apparel, and toy categories as well as brand name products and much more.
