'Alf' Star Max Wright Has Died Aged 75

Max Wright, the star of the hit 80s sitcom "ALF" died Wednesday after a long battle with cancer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Running for four seasons from 1986 until 1990, the NBC show was a hit with viewers in the States and overseas.

But he was best known for his role on "ALF, " about a family that played host to a puppet alien.

The actor's wife, Linda Ybarrondo, tragically passed away in 2017, but he is survived by their two children, Ben and Daisy. He said, "It doesn't matter what I felt or what the days were like".

Outside of Alf, Wright's buttoned-down persona served him well in a number of roles across his 45-year career, including a number of noteworthy genre roles.

Other roles included starring in "Friends" for two episodes as Terry, Central Perks's manager, as well as in 'Misfits of Science, ' 'Buffalo Bill, ' 'Cheers, ' 'Norm, ' and 'Dudley'.

While the show was loved by many, Wright himself was not a fan. For years, Wright battled with cancer. "But there was great chemistry between Max's character and ALF". "'ALF' brought people a lot of joy".

The actor played Willie Tanner on the hit 1980s sitcom. The last project he worked on was in 2005, entitled Back to Norm, a comedy pilot with Norm MacDonald, Robert Schneider and Janet Varney. He was also in movies like All That Jazz, Soul Man and The Shadow.

Max performed on stage, too.
