American Zach Johnson is a two-time Major victor and one of the best golfers on the planet.

Zach Johnson, the 2007 Masters champion, stepped to the tee box on the 13th hole at the tail end of Amen Corner during Friday's second round.

The extraordinary incident became even more freaky once the ball had richocheted off the tee marker and come to rest only a couple of metres away, still on the teeing ground.

Johnson took a few practice swings, but accidentally knocked the ball off of the tee.

But Johnson is adamant he will not the suffer the same misfortune on Saturday, as he said: "I don't think I could do it again if I even tried".

May tells parliament that consensus on Brexit deal is in 'national interest'
Britain has the option of leaving before that if Mrs May succeeds in getting a withdrawal agreement ratified by Parliament. The further delay comes after an initial extension pushed Brexit back from March 29 to April 12.

"Oh sh*t", was the immediate reaction from Johnson, known universally as perhaps the golfer least likely to drop a four letter word on the course.

Despite his pride being hurt, Johnson did not incur a penalty and he ended up making a birdie.

Zach Johnson, a two-time major victor who won the green jacket in 2007, just shanked a shot at the par-5 13th.

Unfortunately for Johnson, his weekend prospects look slim after two consecutive bogeys on the final two holes of his round have left him looking very vulnerable at +3, with current leaders Francesco Molinari and Jason Day sharing the clubhouse lead at -7. However, because the rules state a ball is not in play until after the tee shot, Johnson was able to re-tee it and hit away.
