Prodigy Frontman Keith Flint Died From Hanging, Inquest Hears

The Prodigy legend Keith Flint tragically died by suicide, an inquest has heard.

Flint was found dead in his home in Essex, England on March 4.

Lynsey Chaffe from the coroner's office said, "Police attended, all protocols were followed and his death was confirmed as not suspicious".

The interim medical cause, given on March 11, was recorded as hanging, according to the Telegraph, following a post-mortem.

His death is under investigation awaiting toxicology results.

Essex's senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray adjourned the inquest until 23 July for a full hearing.

Flint went on to appear on The Prodigy's 2004 album Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, 2009's Invaders Must Die, 2015's The Day Is My Enemy and 2018's No Tourists. He was only 49 years old.

Keith was found dead aged 49, on Monday, with the Prodigy star's bandmate Liam Howlett posting after the news: 'The news is true, I can't believe I'm saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend.

It read: "It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint".

Keith Flint reportedly split from his girlfriend Faye Kelbie just weeks before his death.

Flint, initially one of the band's two dancers when they first formed in 1990, later became integral to their success, performing vocals on number one singles Firestarter and Breathe.

Numerous band's followers have since commented on the post, with one fan writing, "So sad about this and so sorry for dear Keith bless him".
