Syrian refugees Afraa Hajj Hammoud and Mohammed Belal chose to give their newborn a name that would reflect their gratitude to Canada for allowing them to settle and start a new life. They then spent three years in Lebanon, before eventually settling in Calgary in 2016. After learning Canada was starting to take in Syrian refugees after Mr Trudeau became Prime Minister, they jumped at the chance to leave.
The Syrian family are not the only ones to name their baby after the Canadian prime minister.
