The mosque was closed and Friday prayers cancelled for the first time since Israel occupied east Jerusalem in 1967 after a gunfight inside the compound on Friday morning killed two Israeli police officers and the three alleged Palestinian attackers. It also called for immediate opening of Al Aqsa Mosque to worshippers.
Israeli Prime Minister, however, said he told the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that there would be no change to the status quo on the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Fanatic Jewish groups have called on their government to use this opportunity to take control of the mosque and turn it in a Jewish temple, the Palestinian Info and News Agency (WAFA) reported.
Netanyahu had said the compound could reopen Sunday after security was assessed, and rejected Jordan's criticism.
Jordanian MP Kais Zayadin, rapporteur of the Foreign Affairs Committee in Parliament, wrote a post on social media calling on the worldwide community to set punishments for Israel, as it has "executed unarmed Palestinian citizens, without a trial".
One Jerusalemite said on his social media account: "Before criticising the shooting, people living outside of Palestine should look at the bigger picture and think why Israelis are still living in Palestine and attacking Al Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis".
"It has been chose to reopen the Temple Mount gradually tomorrow (Sunday) for the faithful, visitors and tourists", the premier's office said in a statement.
Another blow for Trump, Russia
Homeland said Veselnitskaya first got her immigration parole letter on September 25, 2015 and it was last used in February 2016. Donald Trump Jr. did not disclose Akhmetshin's presence in statements and emails he released on the meeting earlier this week.
Director of the Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani had warned that the prolonged closure of the mosque would be tantamount to an invitation for violence in the region.
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation also issued a statement on Saturday condemning the closure of the mosque.
Netanyahu's office said security would be increased with metal detectors at the entrances to the site and security cameras outside it.

More than 300 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces since October 2015, when the tensions intensified.
