Almost 3,000 people who were forced to flee their homes near Cachuma Lake and the community of Goleta remained under evacuation orders as fire officials said another evening of Sundowners could drive the flames toward populated areas. Those orders remained in place Saturday.
Paradise Canyon Road from Highway 154 east to the first river crossing, Rosario Park and all of Stagecoach Road and Farren Road and Las Varas Canyon Road are also included in the evacuation order. Gusts were expected to reach 35 miles per hour.
While the campers made it out safely, Circle V Ranch said critical infrastructure was destroyed during the fire and they would be closed for the remainder of the 2017 summer.
"The east and west flanks of the fire continue to burn towards established containment lines".
The American Red Cross is operating an evacuation center located at San Marcos High School, 4750 Hollister Ave.in Goleta. But fire crews are prepared if that should happen, officials said.

Cal Fire said the blaze is 35 percent contained, down from more than 50 percent contained earlier in the week. Expected containment should be in a week. The cause of fire is still under investigation, over 1,500 firemen are involved in the fire extinguishing operation.
