A spin-off movie featuring the Autobot Bumblebee is in the works, and film studio Paramount and Hasbro, the toy company that owns the Transformers brand, have confirmed that a sixth instalment will be released in 2019.
While we have plenty of photos above of the premiere, it appears the festivities weren't quite fan friendly.
It may be Bay's last outing as director, if reports are true, but this metal-mashing robot franchise clearly has plans to run and run.
Amy Matthews, events and PR executive at Smyths Toys, added: "We were delighted to be able to pull off the surprise; it was great to see so many smiling faces". After sitting through this "Last Knight", the real shame is that they didn't turn her loose on the script.
It's easy to slam the "Transformers" movies for being - to varying degrees - extremely bloated and largely incoherent cinematic messes. Joining him is Laura Haddock, who plays Vivian Wembley, an interesting Oxford professor with an enthralling family tree; as well as Isabela Moner who portrays Izabella, a young talented kid taking refuge with the Transformers.
Free Dental Care for Veterans Saturday
Veterans received free dental care at the Aspen Dental in Binghamton as part of the company's annual Day of Service. We caught up with Veterans in Paducah where they were getting their teeth checked out and worked on.
What's sad about this release is that even after sitting for two and half hours of the latest Transformers film, it's hard to make sense of the most convoluted narratives of the summer.
"Look, I always wait for the audience, because there's an arrogance to getting ahead of your audience". Bay objectified Megan Fox and briefly Rosie Alice Huntington-Whiteley and got even creepier playing up his slow motion sexy shots of actress Nicola Peltz portraying the 17-year-old daughter of Mark Wahlberg's inventor Cade Yeager in Age of Extinction. This year's Transformers: The Last Knight is no different and it sounds like Michael Bay has not learnt his lesson.
Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian said: "And so the ageless, endless, pointless struggle between good and evil in the Transformer community recommences, and the final explosive showdown seems to be competing with Marvel movies for spectacle". There have been five of these now, so you know what that means. Hopefully those films are fun and aren't like the previous ones directed by Michael Bay. I think the same answer could be applied to Adam Sandler and all his headache-inducing Netflix movies he's been producing lately: I believe we just love to be a part of the conversation and wisecracking. Ultimately only time will tell, however if the mid credits stinger is anything to go by then we can expect at least ties to the current timeline.
"Michael Bay knows that come 7:30, it's time for me to go to bed", Wahlberg said.
