Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee gives a media briefing at the team's main office in Las Vegas, Monday, June 19, 2017. But he said he plans to pick his team on Tuesday.

From the resulting lists of unprotected players, the Golden Knights are permitted to claim one player from each team. That forced the team to also expose top-pairing blueliner Marc Methot.

“The issue for us isnt going to be, ‘Can we fill out the roster?” McPhee told reporters after the list was released.

Only players with more than two years of pro experience needed to be protected, so the Bruins didn't have to protect young defensemen Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo. There are a lot of good players there.”.

With all the wheeling and dealing McPhee will be doing this week, it might be smart for Vegas Golden Knights fans to wait a few weeks before purchasing a jersey of their favorite new player.

Donald Trump: Mexico Wall May Include Solar Panels
To help cover the Homeland Security Department's estimated cost of $21 billion, photo-voltaic cells could bring the cost down. Among them was one from Gleason Partners in Las Vegas that proposed a wall of steel, cement and solar panels.

The Vegas Golden Knights paid a steep price - $500 million - to join the NHL, but at least the league is giving its 31st franchise a chance to hit the ground running. The Bruins are most likely to lose one of two defensemen - Adam McQuaid and Colin Miller. "This has worked out very well for the Vegas Golden Knights and we expect to put a good, entertaining club on the ice". Fleury waived his no-movement clause so the Pittsburgh Penguins didn't have to force another trade, and the 32-year-old can go back to being a clear No. 1 goalie. The Penguins instead protected Matt Murray a week after the second-year goalie led them to win their second consecutive championship.

Anaheim Ducks couldn't find room on their list to protect fifth year defenceman Sami Vatanen, who won't be ready for the start of next season after having surgery to fix a shoulder injury. On the final year of his deal with a digestible $5 million U.S. cap hit, an established 20-plus goal scorer like Neal, 29, would fit the bill.

Other notable forwards left unprotected were Los Angeless Dustin Brown, Montreals Tomas Plekanec and Pittsburghs Chris Kunitz. Aside from Fleury, other goalies available are Florida's Roberto Luongo, Detroit's Petr Mrazek and Philadelphia's Michal Neuvirth.

The unprotected list includes players eligible to become restricted or unrestricted free agents, which the Golden Knights have the option to sign over the next three days. The teams submitted their lists to the National Hockey League this weekend and those lists were made available to the public on Sunday. Marchessault is a free agent after this coming season. Even when you put previous expansion fees into today's dollars, those other teams paid a pittance to join the Board of Governors' annual croquet match. If one of those players ends up signing with the Golden Knights, he'll count as Vegas' selection from that team. The Minnesota Wild and the New York Islanders were not far behind but one look at the Ducks' protected list and you can see it was like a Christmas present for Vegas GM George McPhee. Teams could also ask Vegas to pick an exposed player they're interested in, then get the Knights to subsequently flip him. With so many Cup teams built down the middle, Dallas' Cody Eakin (who McPhee also drafted), Minnesota's Erik Haula and St. Louis' Jori Lehtera could help both present and future.

The Florida Panthers made an interesting decision as they decided not to protect Jonathan Marchessault, who scored 30 goals for them previous year, and instead protected Nick Bjugstad.
