As the Giants turned their clocks back to Pacific Daylight Time, Blach helped the Mets lineup turn back the clock on Friday night, as NY did its best impression of the 1927 Yankees against him in an 11-4 drubbing.
Despite the Mets' victory, they are still nine games under.500, a dubious mark they had not sunk to since September 2014, when they were concluding the last of six straight losing seasons before a franchise resurgence. They had lost seven of eight.
What it means: Well, probably not much, considering the Giants are on pace to lose more than 100 games.
New York Mets' Yoenis Cespedes is high-fived in the dugout after hitting a two-run home run against the San Francisco Giants during the second inning of a baseball game Friday, June 23, 2017, in San Francisco.

After giving up three hits and a run in the top of the first inning, the Giants evened the score in the bottom half of the frame on the strength of a leadoff single from center fielder Denard Span and a RBI double off from first baseman Brandon Belt.
Ty Blach (4-5) gave up seven runs in three innings.
Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera said Friday that he has requested a trade from the Mets, a decision he made after the team asked him to move to second base. The manager did mention Thursday the possibility he would shift Cabrera to second base for Friday's game. He hit second in the lineup and made his first start at second base since September 28, 2014. The Mets started Jose Reyes at shortstop against San Francisco on Friday night and Wilmer Flores at third. The infielder was the 59th overall selection in this year's draft. The Giants activated 3B Conor Gillaspie (back spasms).
Starter Seth Lugo (2-1) allowed four runs over five and two-thirds innings against the Giants, and was staked to a large lead by the Mets' offensive onslaught. He's 4-4 with a 3.75 ERA in 12 career starts against the Mets.
