Warmbier, who had been confined for 17 months, died Monday afternoon after reportedly being in a coma for a year.

Warmbier, who was released on the same day that Rodman arrived in North Korea for a brief visit, was sent back to the U.S.in a state of unresponsive wakefulness, according to doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

It's unclear if he and Kim will meet in person On January 5, 2014 -Dennis Rodman named a team of former NBA players to participate in an exhibition basketball game in Pyongyang, North Korea. "It's nearly just trying to reach out for sports and see if I can bring sports to North Korea", Rodman said.

Dennis Rodman's role as self-appointed goodwill ambassador to North Korea is not earning him rave reviews.

The North Korean regime is one of the most brutal communist dictatorships in the world, starving its people, constantly threatening nuclear war, and now, murdering an American citizen.

The call for Rodman's removal comes after his praise of North Korea leader Kim Jung-un, along with his latest visit to the country. "The barbarous treatment received by this young American at the hands of his North Korean captors is sadly not a unique act", VOC Executive Director Marion Smith said in a statement to USA Today. "North Korea's government has a record of forcing innocent American tourists into decades of hard labor and of beating and torturing them to the point of death". Emotions - both of a "wtf" and serious nature - ran high, and the former National Basketball Association star talked a lot about late ex-detainee Otto Warmbier.

The non-profit organization said Warmbier's blood is on Jong-un's hands and are demanding that Rodman condemn the supreme leader, or else be removed from the Hall of Fame to send a message to the former National Basketball Association forward.

Chris Volo, Rodman's agent who accompanied the athlete on his trip to North Korea, told ABC News that before they went, "I asked on behalf of Dennis for his release three times".

It's worth noting that sports hall of fames very rarely remove players.

Rodman set a record by leading the National Basketball Association in rebounds per game for seven consecutive seasons from 1991 to 1998, according to the Hall of Fame.
