Areas along a 600-mile-long swath of the Interstate-10 corridor, from Louisiana coast to the Florida Panhandle and western Georgia, will experience the heaviest rainfall and greatest risk of flooding.
Tropical storm Cindy has began to make it's way inland and the Gulf Coast has already seen major impacts.

Mr. Edwards declared a statement of emergency on Wednesday; Gov. Kay Ivey of Alabama issued one on Tuesday because of the flooding threat. The declaration of emergency suspends certain regulations for truckers responding to the emergency, including hours-of-service regulations. The heavy rains could cause flash flooding in these areas.
The National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center have canceled the Tropical Storm Warning for the Mississippi Gulf Coast and reduced the total rainfall expected.
On the forecast track, the tropical storm is expected to move near or over Trinidad and the eastern coast of Venezuela on Monday night and early Tuesday.

Workers on Grand Isle, Louisiana's barrier island community south of New Orleans, worked to reinforce a rock levee protecting the island's vulnerable west side. Santa Rosa County reported flooding at the south end of the county that made some roads impassable. That is why I am imploring all Texans in the Gulf region to stay updated and heed warnings from your local officials, avoid high water areas and refrain from attempting to drive through roadways or over bridges that have the potential to flood. And authorities in various coastal Louisiana and MS communities handed out sandbags for areas along rivers and bayous.
"We have been through this many, many times before", New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said at a press conference on Tuesday, according to PBS. Residents in nearby counties were also offered sandbags.
Authorities in Louisiana announced they will close courts and other government buildings across the state on Wednesday.
