The shooter who attacked a GOP baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, last week carried a list with the names of six members of Congress, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday, adding that the incident had no connection to terrorism and the shooter acted alone.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise appears to be on the road to recovery just one week after being badly injured in a shooting at an Alexandria, Virginia baseball field where he and other Republican congressmen were practicing for an annual charity baseball game against the Democrats. The congressman is making good progress and has been upgraded from serious to fair condition, MedStar Washington Hospital Center said on Wednesday.
Scalise arrived at a Washington hospital at "imminent risk of death" after the shooting, doctors said last week.
Authorities said while they found no evidence that Hodgkinson searched for the baseball game or practices on the Internet, agents are still investigating.
"He fired nearly 60 shots, but we do not know his intentions on potential target", said Tim Slater, FBI agent in charge.
In mid to late April, Slater said, Hodgkinson visited the offices of Vermont Sen. During the shooting, U.S. Capitol Police and other officers returned fire.
Hodgkinson Acted Alone, FBI Says On the day of the shooting, the FBI says Hodgkinson got out of his van with two weapons - a 7.62 mm caliber SKS rifle and a 9 mm handgun. He also did it the morning before attacking House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and other people.

Investigators spent the last week tracking every move of 66-year-old Tom Hodgkinson, from the first time he showed up on police radar to the day of his attack.
The FBI confirmed that a witness reported that Hodgkinson has asked them on the morning of the shooting: "Is this the Republican or Democrat baseball team?" Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, railed against Republicans and President Donald Trump in social media posts.
Hodgkinson had been involved in a protest in Belleville, Illinois, where he was living outside a United States post office building.
A storage locker rented by Hodgkinson in Alexandria, Virginia, was found to hold "a laptop computer, more than 200 rounds of ammunition, a receipt for a November 2016 gun purchase and additional SKS rifle components".
Scalise, No. 3 in the House of Representatives Republican leadership, was shot in the hip and remains hospitalized.
Investigators did not find any threats to members of Congress on Hodgkinson's social media accounts, though he frequently posted about his disdain for Republicans, Slater said.
Hodgkinson left his home in Belleville, Ill., in March and drove to the Alexandria area, where he then lived in his vehicle at a YMCA across the street from the baseball field. All five people who were shot, including two U.S. Capitol police officers, survived their injuries.
