Iran's Airtour Airlines has signed an MoU for the purchase of 45 Airbus A320neo aircraft in a deal unveiled at the Paris Airshow, PR director of Iran Airtour said on Thursday.
Iran Airtour in a statement put the value of its deal with Airbus at €4.5 billion.
"This commitment for 45 A320neo Family aircraft demonstrates the confidence airlines have in our successful market leading single-aisle for its operational efficiency and unrivaled passenger comfort", said Fabrice Brégier, Airbus COO and President Commercial Aircraft. Operating scheduled services to domestic and worldwide markets, Iran Airtour will benefit from the new aircraft to modernise its fleet and expand its operations to domestic and global markets.
Iran Airtour was established as a subsidiary of Iran's national flag-carrier airline IranAir in 1992 and privatized in 2011 but maintains a status as subsidiary of IranAir.
Trump govt cancels Obama policy for illegal immigrant families
Trump's campaign rhetoric notwithstanding, he clearly sympathizes with "Dreamers" and wants them to have amnesty - or so it seems. Hundreds of thousands of early enrollees in the program were facing uncertainty about their future status.
Abdolreza Mousavi, Zagros Airlines CEO said, "We are delighted to have been able to reach an agreement with Airbus for these new aircraft".
The deals with the Iranian companies are contingent on government approvals, including that of the U.S. Treasury Department, which monitors sales to Iran as a contingency of Iran's 2016 nuclear arms deal.
Airbus said separately that Zagros, which flies domestic routes in Iran, had signed a memorandum of understanding to pick up 20 planes of the A320neo family, and eight of the A330neo type.
Boeing has also signed a deal for 30 737 MAX jets with Iran's Aseman Airlines, which is managed as a private company and owned by Iran's civil service pension foundation, Reuters added.
