Sean Spicer Is 'Useless — CNN Reporter

Politico reported that Spicer is leading the search for his replacement as press secretary, and says Laura Ingraham is a top contender for the role.

By virtually any measure (average briefing time, total briefing time, number of briefings) the Trump White House is on pace to set new lows in June and has fallen off sharply since March.

Per Politico, Spicer is vying for a position in the administration that would be more senior than press secretary and communications director.

"The White House press secretary is getting to a point. where he is just kinda useless", Acosta said.

Sanders said in a statement, "We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation".

With the upcoming changes, Spicer will assume a supervisory role over both the press and communications offices. "The president owes him this much for all he's done for him".

The White House has forbidden the press from recording the briefings with Spicer, banning the use of video or audio to capture the exchanges between the press and the administration.

Bill Cosby trial: Jury deadlocked but judge orders deliberations to continue
After deliberating for four days and rereading and hearing testimony , the jury has been unable to come to a conclusion. One of them, Lili Bernard, burst into tears on Thursday after getting into an argument with a Cosby supporter outside.

When asked about the press secretary's absence, the Principal Deputy revealed Spicer's schedule has been hectic since Dubke left his post.

David Martosko, US political editor of DailyMail.com, has not interviewed for the communications director position, one person said.

The press shake-up underscores the president's dissatisfaction with his communications team - in February, he graded himself a "C" or "C-plus" on messaging - and Spicer as its most public figure from his perch behind the podium.

Mr Spicer later expressed frustration that other reporters who had observed the scene didn't come to his defense and explain that he was talking with someone on a sidewalk hemmed by shrubbery, not literally hiding in bushes.

But, just moments later, he added, "The broader point here is that everyone who serves the president serves at the pleasure of the president".

Several journalists on Monday took to Twitter to report that, once again, the daily press briefing would not be broadcast live on TV or on the radio.
