Trump again lashes out at Russia probe, says he is being investigated

His investigation then grew to include looking at whether President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey because he was unwilling to back off the Russian Federation investigation. In his latest of four Friday morning tweets, all angry and combative, the President says he is being investigated, and appears to target Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

The business dealings of President Donald Trump's son-in-law and trusted aide Jared Kushner are being investigated by Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller, the Washington Post reported Thursday, citing officials familiar with the matter.

Feinstein noted that Trump does not actually have the authority to fire Mueller, and that any effort to appoint a replacement for Rosenstein with an eye toward shutting down the investigation would result in a "rude awakening" for the President.

Comey testified under oath to the Senate intelligence committee earlier in June that Trump told him in a private conversation: "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go".

Trump also seemed to confirm reports in the Washington Post and other publications that Mueller's investigation has expanded to include allegations that he attempted to obstruct the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the election and his campaign associates' possible collusion with Russians.

The president did not directly address allegations that he is being probed for possibly obstructing justice - a potentially impeachable offense.

His aides try to change the subject when the president brings up Russian Federation, and aides have tried to reassure him the probe will clear him of wrongdoing - but he remains obsessed by what he believes is unfair treatment.

Trump had expressed the same outrage when Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director from 2001 to 2013, was appointed last month by the US Department of Justice to probe Russian meddling. I think the president should get on the work that is so important that he do and at this point let this investigation run its course.
