The a one year anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting out of Orlando, is remembered here at the state house.

According to the AP, hundreds of people gathered outside Pulse to mark the one-year anniversary of the deadliest mass shooting in modern USA history.

Forty-nine people died and dozens were injured when a lone gunman who claimed allegiance to the so-called Islamic State opened fire in the gay nightclub.

For Orlando, the city's brush with awful violence arrived June 12, 2016, as gunman Omar Mateen went on a shooting rampage at the club in the early hours, firing at club-goers after having pledged his allegiance to known terrorist groups and individuals, authorities said.

An exhibit of artwork collected from memorial sites set up around Orlando after the massacre will be shown at the Orange County History Center.

"A year ago [Monday], 49 of our brothers and sisters were brutally massacred at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando".

On Twitter Friday, Trump wrote as part of a tweet about the probe that "I am being investigated". Angus King, an independent from ME , stressed that the probe will likely last for a long time .

Gov. Rick Scott ordered flags around Florida to be flown at half-staff Monday, and at noon, church bells throughout Orlando were scheduled to ring 49 times.

"We thought this was a great way to bring everyone together", said Joydianne Damiani.

President Trump took to twitter yesterday to honor the memories of those lost in the Pulse nightclub shooting. Moments later, the officer pushes the man back and the man falls down.

Monday marked the anniversary of the shooting June 12, 2016. Gov. Rick Scott ordered US flags around Florida to be flown at half-staff and a giant rainbow flag would be unveiled at the Orange County government building. "I tell them everything", Pulse owner Barbara Poma told several hundred people gathered for a midday ceremony outside the club.

Two women, one with a rainbow flag in her hair, embraced as the names of the victims were read aloud.

Mateen's wife, Noor Salman, is facing charges of aiding and abetting and obstruction in federal court. She was not present for the shooting and has pleaded not guilty.
