The US President suggested that Scalise, a Republican congressman who was shot Wednesday during a GOP baseball practice in Virginia, is in worse condition than initially believed.
Scalise, who is the third-ranking Republican in the House, was hit in the left hip and remains in critical condition, MedStar Washington Hospital Center said Wednesday night. Hodgkinson later died after a shootout with police. The gunman, who has not been identified, was shot by police who responded to the scene. President Donald Trump praised Bailey and Griner in a video message that played before the start of the game.
