"I'm just excited to do something special", Curry said during the presentation of the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy on Monday in Oakland after his team beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

The brothers took turns climbing on top of a water cooler to see over the crowd and jumped with delight as Curry's bus went by.

The Warriors made one of the great playoff runs of all time to win the title.

Oakland is also losing one of its other beloved teams, the Raiders, to Las Vegas, and the city is still reeling from a police scandal and mourning a deadly warehouse fire.

But Thursday the city will make headlines for good news.

Curry rode with his wife and kids beside him.

"Oh, my gosh, more than that, " the Finals MVP told USA Today. A Spurs team, even with Chris Paul, may not be enough, but Golden State isn't the first "super team" we've seen in the National Basketball Association and it won't be the last.

The Warriors won in 2015, but then blew a 3-1 lead in the Finals a year ago and lost the title to the Cavaliers after posting the best regular-season record in National Basketball Association history.

"I remember exactly where I was this time previous year, and it wasn't a great feeling", Curry told the crowd at a rally after the parade. Who is beating them?

Spurs never enjoyed big Finals ratings like Warriors-Cavs
However, the Warriors said Tuesday that since the team has not yet been invited to the White House , no decision is yet necessary.

"We've overcome a lot of doubts", said Tulio Zelada, 28, a San Francisco resident who attended the parade.

The parade wound through downtown Oakland, where fans in Warriors shirts and hats cheered their favorite players.

If so he will have help from shooting guard Klay Thompson and do-it-all power forward Draymond Green, who are already locked into long-term contracts with the Warriors.

Golden State Warriors fans are using the word dynasty to describe this year's championship team.

At the rally, Green mocked James' contention that James had never played for a super team.

James can become a free agent in the summer of 2018, and it's beginning to appear that he's going to leave his hometown team, yet again. This is a moment that we all need to enjoy together, and nothing should detract from what we were able to accomplish together and the different kind of ceremonies and traditions that have happened around championship-winning teams. Within minutes, the death knell for the entire upcoming season for the other teams was rung: on paper at least, Durant in the Warriors spelled trouble for the rest of the National Basketball Association.

Golden State Warriors fans are waking up early to secure a spot along the team's parade route in Oakland, California.

"Trump couldn't be more ill-suited to be president, because he's a blowhard", Kerr told reporters in May.
