Your Home: The next big thing for Apple

At the firm's WWDC conference, Apple focused on HomePod as a new way to listen to music in the home, with Apple saying their aim was to "reinvent home music".

Similarly to the Amazon Echo and Google Play, the HomePod is designed for voice control, with Apple's new offering hosting an array of six microphones.

I think I'll just keep playing my own damned music, how about that, "HomePod" (if that even is your real name)? It is more expensive than the Google Home voice-activated speaker with a list price of $129 and the Amazon Echo at $180. The smart speaker automatically studies a room's acoustics, adjusts the sound according to its location, then drives the music in the optimal direction.

There's plenty of talk about pitting the features, pricing, and specs of Apple HomePod, Amazon Echo, and Google Home against one another. The HomePod can be operated via Siri and is priced at $349. The latest example is the HomePod, the company's entrance into the competitive market for home personal assistants.

Apple vice president Phil Schiller said the company's Siri team had tuned the assistant into a "musicologist" that learns the tastes of listeners and gets songs from the internet cloud.

There's going to be plenty of buzz for Apple's shiny new plaything, but let's not assume that it's going to be the class act of Cupertino's next needle-moving innovation.

'My Cousin Rachel' is a stylish romantic melodrama
Production designer Alice Normington has created a setting that is sensual, earthy and naturalistic. Then he starts getting headaches and Rachel keeps brewing him her special tea.

Nonetheless, there's no denying that Siri doesn't currently match market leader Amazon Alexa, which now offers over 12,000 voice-based skills with more added each month. The company itself stated that its new HomePod is created to deliver a great listening experience, and everything is offered on the smart speaker is secondary. This is nothing new in and of itself; both Amazon Echo and Google Home offer similar facilities.

Play music from Apple Music, to begin with. Moreover, the speaker is highly sensitive to the user's privacy as it is integrated with multiple layers of security, including anonymous ID and encryption, that will surely protect your identity from the external world.

These speakers aren't just some random speakers but they are advanced and built to give you the sheer sound experience. During Jobs' last decade, Apple introduced the iPod, iPhone and iPad - all huge commercial successes that both reshaped daily life and swamped previous digital music players, smartphones and tablets.

But it's also possible that the HomePod could expose Siri as less capable than Amazon's Alexa, Google's Assistant and Microsoft's Cortana, Blaber said. That's especially important because people are starting to access information, entertainment and search in a more "pervasive" way that's less dependent on smarthphones, he said. There are chances that Samsung's Bixby speaker could come with support for media casting devices like Apple's AirPlay and Google Cast.

Cook also used the Apple keynote to show off new iPad and Mac computer models, as well as provide glimpses at coming versions of the software powering the technology titan's devices.

The new HomePod will be available in two colors i.e.
