The comments - attributed to Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on incendiary issues such as Israel, Iran and Palestinian Islamist group Hamas - were one of the reasons cited by Saudi Arabia and its allies on Monday for imposing a diplomatic and economic blockade on Qatar. The Associate Press reported he met Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on his arrival Wednesday night.
"The Ministry said the investigation team confirmed that the piracy process had used high techniques and innovative methods by exploiting an electronic gap on the website of the Qatar News Agency", the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The UAE banned all global flights serving Doha from flying through its airspace amid an escalating diplomatic crisis between Qatar and its Arabian Gulf neighbours.

So far, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Mauritania and the Maldives have broken diplomatic ties with Qatar, while Jordan has announced that it will reduce its diplomatic representation in that country and Senegal has called its envoy to the emirate home for consultations.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia have banned Al-Jazeera from the airwaves and closed the channel's offices.
A series of trade and movement measures against Qatar imposed by neighbouring countries are "against human rights before anything else", a senior Turkish official has told Al Jazeera.
Access to the Qatar Airways website had also been blocked by the UAE's telecommunications Regulatory Authority by early Thursday afternoon.
