In a statement Friday to ABC News, Cincinnati Public Schools said, "Our hearts are broken by the loss of this child, and our thoughts are with his parents and extended family".
Parents and other demonstrators hold signs against bullying and in memory of Gabriel Taye, an 8-year-old boy who killed himself in January, two days after being knocked unconscious by another Carson School student, Friday outside the elementary school in Cincinnati.
Henson said school officials sent a note home with students after Gabriel's death saying that a student had died in an accident and counselors would be available for their children.
It then shows Gabriel trying to shake the bully's hand and being thrown against a wall, knocking him unconscious, the attorneys said.
In a statement accompanying the video, Cincinnati Public Schools said it is "reviewing with faculty and staff the procedures regarding adult supervision in the restrooms". But after the publication of an article in the Cincinnati Inquirer on Wednesday, the school district said it plans to release the video in the coming days, blurring out the faces of the minors to protect their identities.
"It was very hard for me to believe that an 8-year-old would even know what it means to commit suicide", Sammarco told WLWT. The boy lay unconscious for 7 1/2 minutes before an assistant principal and school nurse came to his aid.
Gabriel's family attorney Jennifer Branch told Fox 19 earlier this week that the school did not inform the boy's mother about the bullying - telling her only that he had fainted.
Gabriel's mother told local media that she was unaware that her son had been bullied at school until her attorney received a copy of an email that was penned by a homicide detective with the Cincinnati police in a file that describes how Gabriel was bullied in the hallway just outside of the boy's bathroom. She also stated that Reynolds took Gabriel to the hospital that night for what she assumed was the stomach flu after he complained of stomach pain.
"At no point did Gabriel indicate that he had been hit, yanked, pulled, pushed or assaulted in any way", school officials said in their description of the video.
Snapchat shares plummet as Snap Inc's first results are out
The company added more users this quarter than it did during the fourth quarter of 2016, when it grew by just 5 million DAUs. On average, equities analysts anticipate that Snap will post ($0.54) earnings per share for the current fiscal year.
On the day of the assault, his mother Cornelia Reynolds had no idea of what really happened to her son.
Two days later, Gabriel took his own life.
An Ohio county coroner will be reopening and reviewing the hanging death case of 8-year-old Gabriel Taye after the boy's school released troubling video allegedly showing the boy unconscious on the schools bathroom floor.
"When they tell his mother what happened, they just say that he fainted", Branch said.
Leader said Gabriel had no history of mental health issues and described him as a happy-go-lucky kid. As CNN reports, administrators from Carson Elementary School claim that their nurse followed proper protocol. "While we plan to answer some troubling questions about this case in particular by seeking input from school officials and law enforcement, we also want to take a closer look at what's being done statewide to keep our students safe and our parents informed".
An Ohio coroner is reopening the investigation into an 8-year-old boy's suicide. Another child smacked the girl in the face and nothing was done about it, she said. "I witnessed behavior that in my belief is bullying and could even rise to the level of criminal assault".
In a statement, the boy's mother said, "Gabriel was a shining light to everyone who knew and loved him".
"There's lots of violence going on in that school", she said.
"Their investigation has concluded and no charges were filed", school officials said.
