An "active shooter" reported at North Lake College in Irving, Texas, is dead, along with one victim, police said Wednesday.

Police had told students and staff at North Lake College in Irving to stay indoors and warned those people not on campus to stay away while the situation was being tackled, ABC News reported.

Police determined about 12:45 p.m. that there was no continuing threat to the campus but kept the school on lockdown while they did a secondary search and cleared everyone from the buildings. On Monday, a student with a hunting knife slashed one person to death and injured three others at the University of Texas at Austin.
The school was still partially locked down in the late afternoon as police did an initial room-to-room sweep of the campus.
