I Would Have Fired Comey Without Rosenstein's Letter

President Trump said Thursday that when he chose to fire FBI Director James Comey, he thought of the "made up" story about ties between Russian Federation and himself.

This was an apparent reference to Wednesday's press briefing, where White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that Trump fired Comey at the recommendation of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. That ran counter to previous administration explanations of Comey's dismissal.

Fallon had written that the "unsealed filings regarding Huma's emails reveals Comey's intrusion on the election was as utterly unjustified as we suspected at time". Trump did not mention Comey during his speech at Liberty University.

McCabe, who is a candidate to take over as interim Federal Bureau of Investigation director, treaded carefully during the two-hour hearing, backing parts of the White House account of Comey's ouster and at times contradicting it. "The FBI has been in turmoil. You know that, I know that, everybody knows that". "I'll lengthen the time because it should be over with. He's not. He's a show boater", Trump said. "I was going to fire him regardless of recommendations".

The defence came after Trump in an interview to NBC had effectively contradicted his own White House when he said he would have sacked Comey "regardless" of the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"As far as I'm concerned, I want that thing to be absolutely done properly", Mr. Trump said. "Those words don't leave a lot of room for interpretation, so I think it's pretty clear what he meant", she said.

An she repeated her assertion, "the only person that can fire Comey was the president". Trump was reportedly surprised at the backlash to the announcement Tuesday.

But McCabe assured lawmakers he had seen "no effort to impede our investigation to date". "Now, this is a public meeting because you know when you cover this the people watching may say, oh, he met with Lavrov, well this was announced that I'm meeting with Lavrov. I'm not under investigation".

"He wanted to have dinner because he wanted to stay on".

What went wrong for James Harden in Game 6 against the Spurs?
Lure Tim Duncan out of retirement, because the Spurs center is the greatest player to go this unnoticed by the upper-deck laity. The Rockets' 75 points were second-lowest in a game during the Harden era.

The White House Correspondents' Association was quick to respond, condemning the proposal and stressing the importance of press briefings. The president raised eyebrows when he said he directly asked Comey whether he was under investigation. Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Republican Senator John Cornyn, New York Appeals Court Judge Michael Garcia and former Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher will be interviewed on Saturday for the post, an administration official said.

Comey has not publicly discussed any conversations he had with Trump. "Nothing is easier or more pathetic than being a critic, because they're people that can't get the job done". McCabe sidestepped the question, saying he could not comment on an ongoing probe.

United States intelligence agencies concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an effort to disrupt the election that included hacking into Democratic Party emails and leaking them, with the aim of helping Trump.

Leaders of the U.S. intelligence agencies, including Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and CIA chief Mike Pompeo, testified to the senators on Thursday that they agreed with that finding. Moscow has denied any such interference and the Trump administration denies allegations of collusion with Russian Federation.

Trump has repeatedly surfaced comments critical of the FBI Director since the surprise firing shocked the country on Tuesday night, with suspicions that he had been terminated for the investigation into links between the President's campaign and Russian Federation.

Peskov also asserted that the Russian government has "never interfered in US internal affairs and are not going to do it in the future".

However, Trump openly praised the same event - Comey's re-opening of the Clinton email investigation just before Election Day - that prompted O'Donnell to call for Comey's firing before Trump began his presidency. Warner said he was offended at Trump's remarks.

"White House briefings and press conferences provide substantive and symbolic opportunities for journalists to pose questions to officials at the highest levels of the USA government", the association's president, Jeff Mason, said in a statement. The nominee must be confirmed by the US Senate.
